A Fatzer rope transports people and loads safely and reliably when it is itself correctly transported and installed. Once at its destination, rope tensioning takes place; the rope is installed on the rope-bearing elements and brought into its final position. The rope must be relaxed for subsequent splicing work. A splice is a permanent connection between the ends of two ropes, such as required for circulating ropeways (e.g. gondola ropeways, chairlifts).
Fatzer has developed its own splicing method, whereby the original core remains in the center of the splice and the tucked tails are wrapped in a pressure-resistant Fatzer rubber tape. The compact Fatzer knots reduce rope thickening to a minimum and therefore increase the lifetime of the rope. Splicing is carried out by our expert staff on ropeway installations all over the world.
